Overview

GMX-1SS of Advanced Research Systems, Inc. is an optical cryostat designed for high power cooling applications in spectroscopy and materials research. It uses a DE-210 series Gifford-McMahon cryocooler to achieve cryogen-free operation at very low base temperatures, providing stable and contamination-free environments suitable for optical, Raman, photoluminescence, and magneto-optical experiments. The nickel-plated OFHC copper radiation shield reduces radiant heat load, while the stainless-steel vacuum shroud with four optical window ports supports multiple experimental configurations. Its design allows orientation-independent operation and features large 1.25-inch optical windows (F/1.6) for efficient optical collection.
