CCS-800 – Optical & Closed-Cycle Cryostats by Lakeshore Cryotonics

Overview

The CCS-800 is an optical, cryogen-free closed-cycle refrigerator cryostat from Lake Shore, optimized for Mössbauer spectroscopy and designed to provide vibration-isolated cooling of powders and irregularly shaped solid samples. Samples are bottom-loaded into a static helium exchange gas environment, eliminating the need for intricate thermal anchoring. The system comes with an integrated pneumatically isolated mounting stand and includes a Lake Shore temperature controller and calibrated sensor. The sample chamber offers an inner diameter of 38 mm (1.5 in), and typical cooldown time to base temperature is between 2 to 2.5 hours.
