Optistat Dry BLV
Optical & Closed-Cycle Cryostats by Oxford Instruments Nanoscience (GB)
Overview
The Optistat Dry BLV is a bottom-loading Cryofree optical cryostat developed by Oxford Instruments Nanoscience for spectroscopy and photonics applications. Using a closed-cycle refrigerator, it achieves cryogenic temperatures below 5 K without liquid helium or nitrogen. The system provides a wide 3–300 K operating range with ±0.1 K temperature stability, large 40 × 50 mm sample space, and low vibration levels (<10 µm RMS) suitable for sensitive optical and electrical experiments such as photoluminescence, Raman, and FTIR spectroscopy. It includes a Mercury iTC temperature controller and air- or water-cooled compressor options, featuring an f/1 optical aperture and 28 mm clear optical access. Typical cooldown from 300 K to base temperature requires less than 3 hours.
