Atom Trap (MOT) Chambers
Vacuum Chambers by Torr Scientific (GB)
Overview
Atom trap chambers (also known as magneto-optical traps or MOTs) used as part of ultra-cold vacuum systems to capture atoms for testing and research purposes. These are specialized chamber modules formed from low-magnetic permeability materials designed for operation at ultra-low temperatures approaching absolute zero (~50 nanokelvin). The chambers use photons and magnetic fields to reduce atom velocity via "optical molasses" (Doppler cooling) and the Zeeman shift phenomenon to position atoms. Custom configurations available with up to 14 horizontal and 2 vertical optical ports for laser access. Available with fused silica optics and custom anti-reflective (BBAR) coatings across wavelength ranges (e.g., 500-1000 nm).
