CX-4 – Cryogenic Low-Noise Amplifiers by Stahl-Electronics

Overview

The Stahl-Electronics CX‑4 is a cryogenic super low-noise FET preamplifier designed for use from room temperature down to liquid helium temperatures (4.2 K). It employs cryogenic GaAs FET technology that ensures reliable operation in strong magnetic fields up to 6 Tesla, making it well suited for applications such as FT‑ICR, NMR, Schottky noise detection, and quantum state readout. The amplifier offers state‑of‑the‑art input voltage noise performance of 0.31 nV/√Hz at 1 MHz, extremely high input impedance, and minimal thermal load. It is delivered as a printed board stack enclosed with aluminum lids, accompanied by a room‑temperature biasing controller for automated, plug‑and‑play setup .
